Driving Instructor

Requirements for licensed California driving
instructor:
To qualify you must:
• Be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Secure a position as a driving instructor
with Drive Quest®
• Take and complete the 60-hour driving
instructor-training course we provide (40
hours of classroom theory & 20 hours of
behind the wheel instruction)
• Complete and pass a medical exam
• Take and pass with 70% or greater,
a 100 question written test at DMV
• Take and pass with 85% or greater,
a road test at DMV
• Complete and pass Live Scan Department
of Justice background check. ($45)
• Pay the appropriate fees. ($73) 1/2
is reimbursed by Drive Quest® after 3
months of employment
